Claudio Tedesco began his directorial career in the early 1990s after graduating from the Teatro Colón in his native Buenos Aires.

His productions at the Colón included: Janácek’s DIARY OF A MAN WHO DISAPPEARED and Pergolesi’s LA SERVA PADRONA.

Other productions in Buenos Aires and Argentina: DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, the zarzuela LUISA FERNANDA, IL TABARRO, FAUST, IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA and LAMENTO D’ARIANNA.

In 1995 he worked with the director Hugo De Ana at Macerata’s Sferisterio (Italy) on the production of SAMSON ET DALILA and in 1997 at Paris Opera (Palais Garnier) on Robert Wilson‘s new production of PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE.
In 1998 he worked with Nigel Lowery on his staging at the Opera de Lille of DER FLIEGENDER HOLLÄNDER.

Since 1996 he has been based in London, and stagings have included Monteverdi’s IL BALLO DELLE INGRATE, Cavalli’s L’EGISTO and L’ORMINDO , Verdi’s ATTILA (with Opera Integra), EUGENE ONEGIN, CARMEN and John Gay’s POLLY for AAC Opera, Yuko Katori‘s THE NIGHTINGALE AND THE ROSE and Hindemith’s HIN UND ZURÜCK for Guildhall School of Music.

Since 2005 has been working for OperaGenesis ROH2 Covent Garden, where he staged the new opera by Yuko Katori, THE LILY OF THE VALLEY at the Linbury Studio, ROH Covent Garden, in 2008.
